Dear friends and neighbors,

There is so much to love about living in Oregon, and Eugene! The natural beauty all around us. The creative, can-do spirit of our people.

In Oregon we can build on the strong points, and tackle the obvious problems that remain, to become better. Serving in the legislature gives me a great opportunity to do both. I have passed bills on health care insurance rates and prescription drugs, consumer protection, renter fee protection, and accountability for public contracts. I’m proud of the local programs I’ve promoted that wind up benefiting the entire state, like funding for school health centers, an earthquake early warning system at the University of Oregon, and a wildfire detection camera system. I’ve helped bring funding and solve problems for Relief Nurseries, Looking Glass, and Civic Park. And much more you can read about here.

I am honored to be representing and advocating for the residents of north Eugene. On this website you can find out more about me and my legislative work and priorities for the future: scroll down this page or use the links at the top. Legislative Work

Nancy works on a wide variety of issues, from health care, consumer protection, and transportation to getting the most out of taxpayer dollars.

Themes woven into her work include accountability, preparedness, and data-driven decision making. Focus areas have included cybersecurity; climate change, energy conservation, and reducing reliance on fossil fuel; access to affordable prescription drugs and primary health care; protecting children, seniors, and consumers; and stable school funding.

Priorities

Some of these priorities are new as we move past the pandemic, including housing throughout the spectrum, from emergency and temporary to multi-family and middle housing, and mental and behavioral health supports. Other priorities have been themes throughout my legislative work, writing and passing bills to fix problems, close loopholes, and move Oregon forward. My priorities include protecting consumers and vulnerable Oregonians and steering Oregon toward the future - which is why I work on modernizing systems, investing in the future we want and not simply continuing the past, and advocating in specific areas like passenger rail service, clean air and clean water, and re-shaping health care and emergency response systems.

In the District

From helping a local child care business owner who pointed out costly state forms and mailings, and lactation consultants providing services to new moms, to pushing for safety improvements on Delta Highway, Nancy is always working for you.

“I spend time talking with and listening to the concerns of people here at home.  Some of those meetings have been the spark that spurred legislation that I passed.”
